101 in 1001.

Last month, I created my 101 in 1001 List, which I've been wanting to do for a while.  But, I never posted about it.  It will live here until at least May 13, 2013. 

THE MISSION: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days (roughly 2 years, 9 months).
THE CRITERIA: The tasks must be specific (no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (represent some amount of effort on your part).
    Date of Beginning: August 16, 2010
    Date of Completion: May 13, 2013

    Places to Go, Things to See. 
    1. Travel to another country
    2. Take another cruise
    3. Travel to a state I’ve never visited
    4. Go to the beach
    5. Go to Yankees spring training game
    6. Go to a UNC football game (0/2)
    7. Go to a UNC basketball game (0/2)
    8. Go to a Florida Gators football game
    9. Go to a hockey game
    10. Go to a NASCAR race
    11. Take a road trip
    12. See Billy Joel in concert

    13. Finish decorating master bedroom and bathroom
    14. Finish decorating living room
    15. Finish decorating kitchen
    16. Landscape (at least somewhat) the backyard
    17. Completely unpack from move
    18. Clean out garage
    19. Clean out closet annually (0/3)
    20. Vacuum (living room, kitchen, master bedroom and bath) every week for a month
    21. Organize recipes

    Money, Money, Money. 
    22. Create a budget
    23. Stick to budget for at least six months
    24. Pay off credit cards
    25. Pay back parents
    26. Get ahead of student loans
    27. Buy nothing but food for a month
    28. Organize all bills and financial docs
    29. Create a system for bills/mail and stick with it
    30. Spend less than $250 one month on discretionary items
    31. Double the revenue I generated for my firm in 2009

    32. Attend the Criminal Defense bar lunch
    33. Attend the Young Lawyers social
    34. Make decisions about my practice
    35. Take steps to implement my decisions
    36. Apply for second job (i.e. teaching at a local college, freelance editing, etc.)
    37. Work for at least six months (or a semester) in a second job
    38. Clean my office once a month (0/33)
    39. Hang art in my office
    40. Work past 7pm once a month (1/33)
    41. Leave work before 5pm once a month (1/33)
    42. Arrive at work at 8:30am every day for a week

    No Pain, No Gain. 
    43. Lose 15 pounds in first 300 days

    45. Lose 15 pounds in final 301 days
    46. Eat no fast food for 30 consecutive days
    47. Go for a walk 25 times (0/25)
    48. Do 100 sit-ups 4x a week for 6 weeks (0/6)
    49. Run a mile without wanting to die
    50. Train for a 5k
    51. Run a 5k-- scheduled for December 4, 2010!
    52. Play in 2 tennis tournaments (0/2)
    53. Try ten new foods or cuisines
    54. Try two new recipes per month for a year (0/12)
    55. Grow an herb garden
    56. Drink only water for one week twice (0/2)
    57. Eat no sweets for a week
    58. Finish Jillian’s 30 Day Shred

    A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste. 
    59. Read two books per month (1/33)
    60. Make one of #59 Gone With the Wind
    61. Read 35 of the 50 Banned Books
    62. Write reviews of all books read
    63. Complete three Beth Moore bible studies and two more by any author (not including those with small group
    64. Watch all movies on the AFI top 100 list (10th Anniversary Edition)
    65. Take a class (photography, cooking, whatever…)
    66. Have a quiet time every day for a month
    67. Keep a prayer journal for two months
    68. Create something (not food)
    69. Attend a play or musical
    70. Refresh my Spanish
    71. Donate 1% of annual income to charity or ministry (not including regular tithe)

    Do Unto Others… 
    72. Volunteer 50 hours (not church orchestra or committee)
    73. Donate clothes from annual closet cleaning
    74. Send 5 cards/notes to people who need encouragement
    75. Give 15 sincere compliments to strangers or acquaintances
    76. Call someone who I don’t see on a regular basis
    77. Donate blood three times (0/3)
    78. Do one completely unselfish thing (not otherwise listed here)
    79. Host a girls night for my friends
    80. Make a new real-life friend
    81. Make a new blog-world friend
    82. Leave a ridiculously generous tip for great service
    83. Attend each orchestra rehearsal for two months (0/8)
    84. Do something nice for my parents
    85. Send someone a postcard from a trip

    Just for Me. 
    86. Go for one week without complaining about anything
    87. Get a massage
    88. Get a pedicure
    89. Get a facial
    90. Spend a day relaxing in bed
    91. No TV for 3 consecutive days
    92. Get new glasses
    93. Organize photos
    94. Build a snowman
    95. Be in bed before 10pm every night for a week
    96. Make a decision about a tattoo
    97. No cursing for a week
    98. Watch a sunrise

    101. Donate $1 for all items not accomplished

    1. This is a good idea!! Could I steal it? :) We have a lot of the same things on our list. Except I want to go to a Rangers spring training game! ;) I've started Jillian's 30 Shred. I made it to day 4 before I got distracted. Oh, I love Beth Moore. I've done two of her studies. I could go on and on, but I won't!! Good luck!!
