Me Time.

This week, I'm linking up with the All You Need is Love Blog Challenge hosted by Neely, Sam, and Courtney.  Fortunately, it's only seven days (instead of 30), so there's a better chance that I can actually make it all the way through.  :)

Chaos Theory

When I need some me time I {LOVE} to...

I am an independent girl.  I need a lot of "me time."  On weekends, I really need to have either Friday or Saturday night all to myself (Sundays are out as they are spent almost entirely with my family).  During my "me time," it really doesn't matter what I do-- just that I do it alone.  Of course, there's usually lots of tv/movie watching and book reading.  But often, I'll cook or bake or clean my house during this "me time."  Sometimes, like this past Saturday, I'll go to the library for a while to get online and to have a change of scenery.  And if I hadn't cut myself off from all cosmetics purchases for a while, I could spend hours at Sephora just wandering around.  No matter what it is that I'm doing, my "me time" is sacred to me and highly protected.

What about y'all?  Head on over to Neely's to join in!

This weekend, I saw True Grit with Rebekah-- it was great.  Although, if you don't like westerns, this isn't going to make you change your mind.  It was really funny, and Jeff Bridges is awesome.  I think the Best Actor award will come down to him and Colin Firth.  They were both great, but I'd lean toward Colin Firth by just a bit.  Especially given that Jeff Bridges won last year for Crazy Heart.  Hailee Steinfeld was brilliant as well.

I was going to see The Fighter too but ended up not going.  Instead I finished the book Never Let Me Go.  The story was definitely unique, which I loved.  But I thought the author could've gotten me more emotionally invested before the end.  The movie looks like it's more emotional, which will hopefully make it better than the book.  (Also, Andrew Garfield is the lead actor.  Sigh...)

Oh, and since I know you all are dying for an update-- the Daytona 500 is 13 days away and the Bud Shootout is 5.  I love February.  :)

  4. I totally agree with you -- "me time" is definitely essential, and it doesn't even matter what it is you're doing, as long as it's just with yourself.

Although I will say I think it's awesome that you spend Sundays with your family :)

    Thanks so much for playing!

p.s. I saw True Grit, and I'm not going to lie, it was one of those my friend suggested and I just kind of said yes to. I had no idea it was a western. I had never really been into westerns, but I will say, this one at least made it so that I'll think twice before automatically saying no to one! :)

  5. I'll probably see True Grit at some point. I like Jeff Bridges!

I've started to appreciate "me time" more and more. I used to overextend myself too much on the weekends. Now I need at least one weekend a month to myself if I can!! :)

    :)
