Top 5 Thursday Music Memories.

We all have songs that remind us of specific events or times in our lives.  Some big events and others just small memories that are forever tied to some song.  These are just a few of those for me.
**Disclaimer-- I make no warranties about the appropriateness of the contents of the music videos**

1.  "Bye Bye Bye" from N'Sync-- Back in the day, I was Team Backstreet Boys.  However, my best friend in junior high, Rebecca, and I spent a week one summer at her grandmother's house.  Along with Rebecca's sister and her friend, we put on a little "talent show," if you could call it that.  And we did the dance to this song.  It was awesome-- you should've seen my mad 14 year old dancing skillz.

2.  "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World-- Some guys I went to high school with had a band.  This was their "#1 hit" and they played it at every social gathering my senior year.  Including our Jr/Sr Banquet (not "prom" since I went to a private Christian high school).  Good times.

3.  "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" by Billy Joel-- During my semester in DC during college, we went to see "Movin' Out," the Broadway show based on Billy Joel's songs.  I had never really listened to Billy Joel before, but I fell in love that night.  I saw the show three times and collected all my parents' Billy Joel albums as soon as I came home on break.  That night changed my life, as I am now a HUGE Billy fan.  This was one of my favorite songs from the show and is still one of my fave Billy songs.  So fun.

4.  "100 Years" by Five for Fighting-- This was another band that I fell in love with in college.  This song was several years old by then, but I didn't really get into Five for Fighting until the spring semester of my senior year.  I remember listening to this song one day driving down Highway 15-501 with the windows down after leaving class and I just started bawling because graduation was coming, I was leaving Chapel Hill, time was flying, I was getting older, etc.  When I hear it now, I still feel like I'm back at Carolina (or at least wish that I was).

5. "Harder to Breathe" by Maroon 5-- This whole album, Songs for Jane, is one of my favorite albums of all-time.  I listened to it over and over and over during the summer of 2006.  It was the first summer during law school, and I was interning with a judge.  I remember listening to it every day to and from the courthouse.  "Harder to Breathe" was my favorite song on the album.  Every time I hear it now, I think about sitting in that courtroom with the judge.  I even remember which books I was reading then when this song comes on.

  12. The fact you were 14 when NSYNC was popular makes me feel old - I was in COLLEGE! ;) I liked some of their songs though.

I LOVE Billy Joel. My brother listened to Billy Joel all the time when I was younger, thus I picked it up from him!

    :)
