The Post You've All Been Waiting For.

So, after much pestering encouragement, I'm finally going to share the story of The Boy with you.  I know you've all been on the edge of your seat in anticipation.

Donny and I technically "met" through Rachel on twitter.  And if my memory serves me correctly, our first conversation was over my hatred of the Red Sox when they started out the season with a serious losing streak.  :)  So, when I got to Texas, I asked him if he was going to the Rangers game that I would be attending on Monday.  He said he would come, and then I asked if he wanted to join us at the rodeo that Saturday night.  And he did.

Yes, we officially met at the Fort Worth rodeo.  Very Texas-y, right?  :)  After the rodeo, our group went to Billy Bob's Honky Tonk, where he taught me how to two-step and we tried to avoid being run over by the professional two-steppers who were spinning and flying around the dance floor.  Ah, fun times.  After that, we hung out every day for the rest of my trip, including at the aforementioned Rangers game.

And since I've been home, we've talked every day.  And he's been in Africa on a mission trip since last Wednesday, and he's still managed to contact me somehow every day, which has made this girl very happy.  :)

He's SO funny and witty.  And thoughtful and sweet.  And he loves Jesus and baseball (although he hates the Yankees, so it's not like he's perfect or anything).  Not to mention he's super cute:

Here's the downside though:

But, he's coming to visit me Labor Day weekend!

So, there you have it!  The story of The Boy.  :)

  1. My boyfriend and I started dating 2 1/2 years ago...he was in Florida and I was in New York City. After 3 months, me moved to Atlanta and I moved to Boston! I'm back in NY and he's back in FL but we're doing better than ever! It's not always easy but if both of your hearts are into it, you can definitely make it work!

  3. Aww, this is a great story. I wish you two the best of luck. Distance is not always easy, but, like Christy said, if you're both committed, you can make it work! Tons of good wishes to you two!

  7. The hat and shirt need to go! That's pretty much the only flaw I see, but you're right, we're not all perfect. Lol, my man hates the Yankees too (weirdo). You two look cute together!

  13. YAY! I'm finally reading this post! He seems like a sweet guy. And a Texan and Red Sox fan to boot (sorry, hubs is a Sox lover from MA and I find him sexy)! Greg and I did the long distance thing for a little while (I mean, wasn't THAT far... just between Houston and Dallas). We literally flew Southwest every weekend to visit each other for about 9 months! It's a whirlwind! If it's meant to be, trust me, it'll work out!!! He's a cutie!
