Tuesday Tunes-- Adele Edition.

I almost forgot it was Tuesday!  Fortunately for all of you, I remembered in time to share some of my new fave tunes with you.  :)  It took me a little while to get with the Adele bandwagon, but I'm definitely on board now!  Love her and love these.

Fill in the Blank Friday.

1.   If I could get away somewhere for the weekend I would go    back to Texas.  In a heartbeat.   and I would bring    my cowboygirl hat, my camera, and plenty of sunscreen.

2.  Something I often rant about is    I try really hard not to complain and rant.  But, sometimes it's impossible to stop.  Possible causes are work (clients), sports, and malfunctioning technology

3.  One item I need to have in my fridge at all time is   yogurt.  It's my favorite snack.

4.  My "life-saving" product is   Moroccan oil.  It makes my coarse, curly hair SO VERY soft.

5.  A friend is someone who    picks you up at the airport over an hour away at 11pm, brings you champagne when you buy your first house, still goes to movies with you even though you talk through them, and loves you even through all your craziness.

6.  If I could write my own blank it would be    "My goal for the rest of the year is...."

7.  My favorite kind of art is    Photography.

Haha-- I wonder what kind of google searches will bring people to my blog with that title.  :)  I'm guessing they'll be sorely disappointed to learn that the only naked here is Urban Decay's NAKED palette!!  After reading about this palette for SO LONG, I finally got my hands on one!

Let me tell you, it totally lives up to the hype.  This edition came with an eyeshadow brush (as opposed to the dual-ended Whisky/Zero eyeliner), and I'm glad.  I'd rather get the $26 brush than a $17 eyeliner (that I already have).  These shades give so many possible combinations from an every day neutral look to a dark smoky eye.  I love it already.

Here's what I did on day 1.

I used (1) Sidecar on the inner half of my lid followed by (2) Toasted on the outer half.  In the outer corner and up into the crease is (3) Hustle.  Under the eyebrow and on the inner corner, I used (4) Virgin as a highlighter.  And (5) Creep is the eyeliner.  I used it dry and alone without a liquid or pencil underneath as an experiment, and it actually worked pretty well.  I also used Buck to fill in my brows, but IMO it was too dark and pigmented to use as a brow filler for me.

You can do as simple or as complex of a look as you like.  I'm really looking forward to doing a dramatic look with it.  Anybody else NAKED and loving it??  :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday.

I'm loving... that not too long from now, I'll be flying the friendly skies to visit this lovely lady in Dallas for her birthday!!

Which means that I won't be here for five days!

I'm loving... television season finale weeks!  It makes me happy and sad at the same time.  But I'm so excited these "bubble" shows got renewed!

I'm loving... this video.  I know I posted it a few weeks ago, but I can't stop watching it.

I'm loving... my new jeans from Old Navy.  I haven't worn their jeans since high school, but I LOVE these.  They're the "Sweetheart" boot cut.  I need to get more.

And I'm loving... that the Yankees finally won again last night.  Thank you, Alex Rodriguez.  :)

Tuesday Tunes-- Featuring Adam Levine.

I've been watching The Voice on NBC recently, and I must admit that I really like it.  I'm wasn't a huge fan of any of the judges before the show except Adam Levine (sigh...).  But I'm starting to come around on the others (Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton & CeeLo Green).

So, for today's Tuesday Tunes, I bring you Adam Levine.  I mean, Maroon 5 and their cover of Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You."  Love love love it.

Office Tour.

Well, we've completely moved into our new office.  I was not a fan of the yellow paint when I first saw it, but now that I have my furniture and everything in here, I like it!  I was able to rearrange the furniture so that it looks like I have more room than I did before even though I'm pretty sure my office is exactly the same size.

My desk & credenza haven't been this clean since I started work.  Ha.

Diplomas, bar license, certificates, etc.  (Not to mention all the files, etc.)

My friend Jessica painted this for me.  Isn't it gorgeous!

Our whole office is set up SO differently than before.  It's not the ideal situation for me, but I don't hate it.  The worst part is that my work BFF Amanda is across the way instead of right next door.  Thank google for gchat!

The best part about moving is that it is a great chance to throw things away and get re-organized.  So that's what I've been doing Friday and today.  And, as you can see from the pics, I'm almost done!  It's back to real work tomorrow.  But the AWESOME part is that it's a short week for me.  :)

Happy Monday, everyone!

Beach Reads.

While I was at the beach a couple weeks ago, I managed to read two great books. (My goal was three, but the second one was pretty long, so I didn't make it to three.)

First, was L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad.  This was the PERFECT beach read.  It was a great story and kept me interested enough to read it in only two days.  It ended kind of abruptly, but the sequel Pretty Little Lies (which I've already started) picks up right where LA Candy leaves off.  I found myself trying to figure out which book character matched up with the characters on The Hills.  Most of them weren't all that complicated to figure out, but I still can't decide who Scarlett is.  Lo, perhaps?  Anyone have any ideas?

And second, was The Help by Kathryn Stockett.  I had read so many reviews of this book and even picked it up to read before last week.  And all the reviews were right-- it was a great book.  I love stories that are told from multiple viewpoints-- I always feel like I get a fuller picture that way.  This story was told through the eyes of three women, two who are black maids in 1960s Alabama and one white young woman who is striving to be a journalist.  I highly recommend this book.

Have y'all read any great books recently?  If so, go link up with Heather for Book Club Friday!

Moving Day.

So, today is moving day at my office.  We're moving from the 15th floor of our building to 24.  I'm all packed up and just waiting on the movers to come get my stuff and take it upstairs.

Watching Hulu in my office with the full approval of my boss is a new experience.  At least my computer is still hooked up, or I'd be climbing the walls!

A little moving day humor for you guys to celebrate the big day.  Enjoy.  :)

Tuesday Tunes.

Confession-- I love singing in the car.  And not just humming along to the music.  I mean, at the top of my lungs, belting out the high notes kind of singing.  So, when the 4-5 radio stations that I usually flip through don't have any good songs on there, it makes me angry sad.  But these two songs are currently my faves to belt out in my car.

ps-- Did anyone catch Kathryn from SYTYCD in this video??  Blink and you'll miss her.

I am NOT a country music fan, but I LOVE this song!  I'm a fan of duets, so that's part of the reason.  Plus anything by Kelly Clarkson is great material for my inner car-diva.  :)

Please tell me I'm not the only one that does this...

I've Become a Gym Rat.

Well, at least I'm trying to.  First step was join a gym.  So, I joined The Rush last Friday! It's just two miles from my house, and it's open 24 hours a day. So no more excuses!  Plus, I got a super deal-- only $19 per month.  Can't beat that!

So, while I know it's not the same as road-running, I've started the Couch to 5k on the treadmill.  So far, I've done two days, and it's not as horrible as I remember running being.  I definitely want to run a 5k this year (and maybe a 10k as well), so this is the first step!

Oh, and The Rush has a TON of equipment.  I know people have had a lot of success with kettleballs, so I'm thinking I should find some kettleball workouts online to do too.

Any recommendations of fun workouts to do at the gym?  Or any songs that I MUST add to my workout playlist?

TV Hilarity.

This week has been GOLD in the comedy world.  I'm going to be so sad in a few weeks when my fave shows go on summer hiatus.  But for now, here are some clips that have left me rolling on the floor laughing.  Oh, and if you're not watching these shows, you're seriously missing out!

Modern Family-- "They Really Frame Your Face"

Modern Family-- "Cam, Hands!"

Parks and Rec-- "I Look Like a Fat Baby!"

Parks and Rec-- "Food Rakes" (Okay, this one is from a few weeks ago, but it's still awesome.)

Join me and link up with Megs & Neely's Boob Tube Babble!  :)

Boob Tube Babble

Happy Friday everyone!  Review of Something Borrowed movie to come.  Can't wait to see it tonight with Sarah!!

Today's Anthem.

I really didn't like this song the first few times I heard it, but it's growing on me.  And it perfectly describes how I feel today.  Coming back to work from a week-long vacation is not easy.  And his line about the phone is dead-on.  Enjoy!

Weekend Birthday.

A few weekends ago was April's birthday.  We went to a local winery to celebrate her big 2-7 and had a BLAST!

The vineyard/winery was beautiful!

 Me with the birthday girl!

Emily wasn't too excited about this one.  :)

Me with Sarah!

The gang (minus Emily, who was behind the camera...)

The other girls enjoyed a wine tasting (not me, since I'm not a big wine fan).  Then we had a picnic on the grounds.  It was so nice.  Sarah even made April a birthday pimp cup and some delish cupcakes!

Despite the thunderstorms that cut the afternoon slightly short, it was a pretty great way to celebrate!
