Fabulous Fall Challenge Day 9

Favorite football pastimes?  Yes, I can write a blog post on that!  Of course, I love going to games.  Football games are one of the best things about fall!

But I also love spending my Saturdays watching college football on tv.  I can always watch my Tar Heels, but here in NC it's not every Saturday that I get the Florida Gator games.  And even rarer that I can catch the Texas Longhorn games (and oh my gosh, I can't believe that I even watch the Texas games...).  Days when I can get all three are pretty nice.

I'm not nearly as much of an NFL girl, although I love going to NFL games.  I watch the Panthers game most weeks (assuming that there's nothing more important on, like a Yankees game).  And I keep up with the Broncos and Patriots (and even the Cowboys these days-- what is wrong with me??), but rarely get to watch their games since I'm out of the market.

Fabulous Fall Challenge Day 8

Today's topic is fall travel.  And I have big travel plans for this fall:  In just three looooooong weeks, I'll be heading back to Dallas!!

Obviously, I'm coming back to see Donny...

But we're also heading to the Texas State Fair with some of my fave Dallas ladies and some new friends...

If my friend Lyn can work her magic, Donny and I will be here on that Sunday...

And I'm also hoping to work in a mini-blogger meet up (again) too!

Other than Dallas, I'm sure at some point, I'll head to the NC mountains with my girls like we usually do.  And I'd love to get back to Chapel Hill for another football game.

ps-- If any of y'all are going to be in Dallas on 10/22, let me know!!

Fabulous Fall Challenge Day 7

The best part about fall cooking/baking is all the recipes using pumpkin!!  My friend Sarah made these Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes for us the other week, and they were AMAZING.

This pumpkin fluff looks heavenly.  Not to mention pretty simple with only four ingredients:  cool whip, vanilla pudding mix, a can of pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice.  Yum!!

Oh, and let's talk about these babies for a sec.  Pumpkin pie IN A CUPCAKE.  Yes, 'tis true.  Could there be anything better than pumpkin pie in a cupcake??  (Well, for me, if it doesn't have cream cheese icing like this recipe calls for.  But that's an easy substitution....)

Now I've just made myself crave pumpkin.  Guess I'll have to hit the grocery store on the way home from work!

It's Here!!

Friday, I came home at lunch in hopes that the FedEx man had been by my house, but no such luck.  But by the time I came home, it was there!!!

I opened up the box...

And pulled out this beauty!!  It was exactly what I had hoped.

Donny said I was a nerd for being so excited about a planner, but whatever.  It's amazing! Check out the tabs!  16 months, woo hoo!

And I love the vertical days-- do y'all have any idea how impossible it is to find vertical days without getting a huge day planner??  I love love love this.

Monthly calendar...

Pocket for keeping stray papers...

Zipper pouch for little things that might fly away...

And finally 2013 and 2014 calendars on the inside back cover.

I would not have bought this planner without a $25 discount code.  But after seeing it, I think it was a steal for me to get for $25.  It's incredible, and I highly recommend it!!

Fabulous Fall Challenge Day 3

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

What do you do for Halloween or share a Halloween memory.

I hate Halloween.  Yep, I'm that girl.  I'm not opposed to Halloween as an idea-- I just never enjoyed dressing up very much.  Even as a kid, I wasn't into it much.

When I was VERY young, my mom made these costumes for me:

Age 2

Age 3

After these, I was pretty much done with Halloween.  Yeah, I know-- I'm weird.

Fabulous Fall Challenge Day 2

Fall is absolutely the best fashion season. By far. Sweaters, jackets, jeans, boots-- doesn't get better than this.

I wear a ridiculous amount of black and grey.  Such as...

But, I need to find ways to add pops of color like this...

Purple + green = gorgeous.

I love the teal and grey combo.  Too bad that I don't have any teal right now to go with all my grey.

This outfit makes me wish I was in Gainesville for gameday (the shoes would be a bit impractical, although they are gorgeous).

And this is clearly not true for me anymore, BUT it would be a perfect fall outfit for the World Series coming up!

Fabulous Fall Challenge Day 1

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

Amber and Neely's Fabulous Fall blog challenge could not come at a better time.  I've been in need of some serious blog inspiration.

Today's topic is fall traditions.  These are my favorite things about fall:

I try to get to Chapel Hill for at least one UNC Football game every year.  It doesn't always work out that way, but it's my goal.

For each of the last three years, I've also gotten to at least one Carolina Panthers football game.  It's not AS awesome as Chapel Hill but still so fun.

One of my fave things to do in the fall is take Day Trips to the Mountains with my friends.  We love going to Blowing Rock and Boone for the day to be outside in the gorgeous weather.

And the first Saturday in October in the mountains is the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival.  Sarah and I went two years ago but didn't get to go last year.  I'm hoping that we can go again in a few weeks and make it an annual event.  So fun.

And last, but definitely not least, is the Dixie Classic Fair.  I hadn't been to the fair since I was a kid until two years ago but LOVED it.  So much fun.
