I Gave In.

To the Hunger Games, that is.

I read the first book last week, and LOVED it.  It wasn't really at all what I anticipated, but so good.  I've never read anything like it.  It was good in the beginning, but once they got into the actual games it was almost impossible for me to put down.  Even while Donny was here... Ha.

Tonight, my BFF and I are going to the midnight showing of the movie!  I've actually never been to a midnight showing of any movie, so I'm super excited!!

  1. Im glad that you tried it out, and that you liked it. I've had a hard time telling some of my skeptical friends about it, cuz when you hear the premise you're like "why would you want to read about that???" But it is SO good! :) Hope the movie is just as awesome!

  2. I will say that I really didn't like the beginning of the first book and the premise really disturbed me-- like being a new mother and all. LOL... postpartum hormones at it's finest! But it is a good story and it sends a message of hope.

  5. I'm tempted to try this whole Hunger Games thing out myself. Joe really wants to see the movie and I've heard EVERYONE raving about the books. I'm not sure I"ll be able to do much reading in the near future, but I'd kind of like to try them out just to see. Have fun at the midnight showing! I'm not sure I could make it through one anymore. I can hardly stay up that late anymore, lol! Yep, I'm old. =P

  7. Midnight showings are so fun but so tiring too, especially after working the day before. Be sure to take a nap!!!

I didn't give in... Instead I'll be sleeping. lol
However, I hope you have a great time and the movie is all that you want it to be and more!

  9. So jealous! I wanted to go tonight, but have such a huge day tomorrow that I know, even with my youth, I would have a hard time accomplishing it all. (Teaching tomorrow morning, plus a late night at law prom). Have SUCH a good time though! I bet the movie is going to be awesome.
