My Weekend in Cowtown-- Part One.

Last Thursday, I used my US Airways standby ticket and headed to Dallas for a visit.  It was kind of a last-minute "bonus" visit, so I didn't get to stay too long.  But we managed to pack a ton of good stuff into this quick trip.

I got into DFW in the late afternoon, and we headed to Target to update our registry.  There may or may not have been a few mini-scuffles over the scanner...  They really should give you two of those things!  We managed to get it all under control though and were in and out of there in no time.

Friday, Donny had to work all day, so I made plans with my girls.  Rachel dropped me off at Starbucks near the Galleria, where I hung out until the mall opened and I could wander around there while she went to work.

Nope, that's not my name.
In fact, I've never met a Katie that spells it with a "y."

The Galleria is has these random animal statutes, which I found hilarious.

I managed to restrain myself at Tiffany.  Not so much at Sephora and the cosmetics department of Nordstrom...

After Rachel got off work at lunchtime, she drug me out of the Galleria picked me back up and we went to my favorite place-- Taco Cabana!!  I swear, I don't know why I love that place so much.  It's good and all, but I guess it's because we don't have one around here that I'm so obsessed with it.  We had a fantastic lunch with some great friends-- Monica, Khrystal, Julie, Laura, Venika, and Laura.  The most awesome part of this lunch is that I have met all of these girls through blogging and/or twitter!  And I stopped at Gigi's to pick up some yummy treats for the rest of the weekend.  :)

Then, we headed to the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington to meet Donny and several other of our friends and some new (to me) folks.

No idea why there's a giant piggy bank with a cowboy hat at the ballpark.

ps-- I was a good fiancee and wore a Rangers shirt instead of a Yankees one like I wanted to...

Lyn and me

More baseball friends!
Stolen from Tonya's facebook page...

Donny and I left before the game was over-- he had worked almost 12 hours and was exhausted, and I was in the middle of a severe allergy attack (stupid Texas pollen...).  So we headed home, after a quick stop at the allergy section of Walmart, where I watched the end of the game from a benadryl-induced daze...

To be continued!
