Christmastime is Here-- Part 1.

I can't believe Christmas is almost here!  That also means I only have four more days of being 28, but we'll not go into that...  I love the Christmas season.  It's always full of events and lots of fun.

Last Friday, we went to McAdenville, NC, which fancies itself "Christmastown, USA."  It's a small town near Charlotte that decks itself out in Christmas lights.  There's one main road that takes you through the town, and all the houses and all the trees are lit up and festive.  We parked and walked the route, which I think was the best way to do it.  It's maybe a mile through this town, so was really easy to walk through and enjoy.  Plus, we didn't have to sit in the traffic that was driving through it.

Unbeknownst to us, there was a celebration and parade that night, which ended up being super cute.  The parade took maybe two minutes.  But the kids got to walk or ride through town, and there was a Santa in a fire truck!

After the parade, we started walking.  There were so many lights and decorations-- the perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit!

Donny (jokingly?) accused me of only wanting to go to play with my new camera, so I finally relinquished it so he could take some pictures too.  He's always been the better photographer of the family, and he got some great pics.

After we left the lights, we went to Bad Daddy's Burger Bar, which has become a requirement for us when we go to (or near) Charlotte.  You can build your own burger (or get one of their creations).  They've got regular beef, turkey, chicken, bison burgers and more-- not to mention dozens of possible toppings.  It's amazing.

A great way to start our Christmas celebrating!  :)
