My Secret.

Today I'm sharing my newest beauty secret.  I honestly don't remember where I first read this, so you'll forgive me for not crediting my source.  But, this may be the best makeup tip I've ever gotten-- I love it that much.  I do this almost every day now instead of foundation.  What I use is a blend of moisturizer, primer, and concealer all smooshed (that's the technical term, y'all) together and rub it onto my face.  It's so quick and easy plus looks great and is remarkably long-lasting!

My favorite recipe is:
- 2 pumps of Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture SPF 15 (gotta have SPF every day!!)
- 1 squirt (again with the technical jargon...) of Too Faced Primed & Poreless-- i'd say keep it around a half inch long at the most
- 2 quick pumps (or 3 if I feel like I want more coverage on a particular day) of MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (I'm regularly an NC15, but use NC 20 for this since it gets pretty diluted).

I put all the products directly in my hand then rub them together until they're pretty well blended then apply directly to my face.  (Side note: I've used a variety different tools to apply foundation in the past and have always found that I like it better just using my hands.  Just make sure they're CLEAN before you apply anything to your face with them!)

Then, I quickly run some setting powder over it with a large fluffy brush-- MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is what I'm currently using.  Then you can be done or continue on with blush and/or highlighting and contouring.  Easy peasy!

Of course, you can substitute other products-- these just happen to be my current favorites.  I imagine that any foundation that's full coverage will work as well as the concealer, but it should be pretty opaque to stand up under the dilution of the moisturizer (think MAC Studio Fix Fluid).

Any other time-saving beauty tricks I should know about??

  1. Are you kidding me?! I am starring this in my google reader right now.

  2. What a smart idea! Maybe I'll try it too!

  3. I just can't get the hang of liquid foundation. I feel like it makes my face feel too cakey. I don't like it. I use the powder or dry foundation. Ahh, I wanna try this though.
