Wedding Wednesday-- The Ceremony.

After the pre-ceremony pictures, I was sequestered with my family and bridal party until the ceremony started. That hour between pictures and the ceremony was maybe the longest of my life. I was SO ready to get things going, but of course, I had to wait.
I was never nervous or anxious-- just ready to get married. But I do remember there being A LOT of people coming to talk to me before the ceremony. Some I didn't mind, but then there were some people who I really am not that close to that felt the need to come back there, which I found odd and slightly annoying. If I had thought about it, I would have had my MOH run interference for me, but I didn't. Oh well.

And then, the music started.
My extended family left to be seated, followed by my immediate family, then the bridal party.

My dad walked out of the room, leaving me alone for a moment. It was the first time that day that my emotions started to bubble to the surface.  My MOH and bridesmaids had done a great job at keeping me laughing and entertained all day, but then I was by myself.  I remember thinking that I had to keep it together, so I had to get my dad back in the room to make me laugh.

And he did.  As he always does.  :)  I have no idea what he said to me, but I do remember that he gave me the strength to keep it together.  Then, the doors opened, and it was our turn to walk down the aisle.
I don't think I've ever been happier to see this face.  After my almost-meltdown earlier, I was set and managed to make it through the ceremony tear-free.  Not so for others...  My bridesmaids reported later that they were all managing fine until they saw Donny get emotional.  :)

Our minister was wonderful.  He had done our pre-marital counseling, and so knew us, which was great.  He's also the nicest, most genuine man.  I was so glad that he performed our ceremony.  He tailored his message to the scripture that we picked out-- Colossians 3:12-19.
Love this face!!
Both our moms read something during the ceremony.
"You may now kiss your bride."
My face in this picture cracks me up.  :)
