Wimbledon.

This week and next week are two of my favorites of the whole year. Wimbledon is the epitome of class and tradition. It's the most prestigious tennis tournament of the yea. And if there was one sporting event on the calendar that I'd want to go to, this would be it. It's just so unique and beautiful.

This year, since there's no Andy Roddick to pull for, I'm going with my other two favorites on the men's side:
Richard Gasquet
Novak Djokovic

On the women's side, I could pull for Serena Williams.  I like her even though she's pretty controversial at times.  But she's never been my favorite.  So, I'm going with my girls...
Jelena Jankovic
Marion Bartoli

And under absolutely NO circumstances do I ever pull for this smug guy, Andy Murray.  He's always a big crowd favorite since he's from the UK, but not in my house.

Are you watching Wimbledon?  Who's your favorite??

  4. Look at us, on the exact same sports page today with the tennis posts!

Where are all the AMERICANS?? I would pull for John Isner since I know him, but he got hurt first round. I honestly just LOVE watching tennis. I don't care who I watch, but I gotta pull for good ole USA!

  6. I'm not a big sports person, but I do enjoy tennis and it's the one grand slam match I've ever been to! :) I used to have favorites and while I still root for Serena, I'm not a big follower of anyone lately. :) But yay for tennis season!

  7. Touring Wimbledon was a serious England highlight for me!! I did not try to get a ticket to the tournament while I was there last year, but I do not regret that. And while I don't really watch any sports beyond Packer football anymore, if I do I ALWAYS cheer for the Americans :).
