Friday, I finally found 11/22/63 at the library, so I promptly checked it out and delivered it to my mother for her to read. I've been dying for someone else near me to read this book!
Donny and I went to dinner and a movie. We hadn't been to the movies in weeks since nothing good had been released, so I was pretty excited to get back to the theater. Sadly, I was very disappointed with The Heat.
I really like Melissa McCarthy. But after watching her for years as Sookie St. James on the Gilmore Girls, I can't stand her characters as some dirty, bawdy, uber-masculine woman. And I think she does herself a disservice to play characters like this. I know it's her career, and she can do what she wants. But I just hate seeing her like this.
Saturday, Donny got up to play golf while I stayed home and watched Wimbledon. Sadly, my favorite guy (Richard Gasquet) lost. Boo. But I did get to spend some quality time curled up with my book.
I also tried to lay out in my pool for a while, but it was cloudy all day, which just made it cold in the water. I didn't stay out there very long.
Donny really wanted me to watch The War, which he loves. It was really sweet and touching, but just as I suspected, it was very sad. It did have a satisfying ending though, and that's the most important thing to me.
Since we didn't go to my grandma's house for lunch, we were home fairly early in the afternoon. So, we both got a nap in while The Office played in the background. :)
