Christmas and Birthday Weekend!

This weekend was such a blast.  Friday night, I went out for my birthday with my friends Rebekah and April for hibachi!!  It had been so long since I had Japanese, so I was pretty stoked for our dinner.  It was delicious, and we had a blast.  April gave me a beautiful purple scarf, and Rebekah gave me the Mary Kay Satin Hands set, which I love so much!

Saturday, some friends came over to our house for games and Christmas movies.  It was after dinner, so I just made a few snacks-- buffalo chicken dip, chocolate pretzels, and hot apple cider.
We all got a little distracted from our game during the last bit of Home Alone.
Andrew and Heidi!
Katie gave me a Sephora gift card, and Heidi gave me this cute little bowl for my rings/bracelet that I now have on my nightstand!  I was definitely spoiled by my friends this year.  :)

I also got Donny hooked on Downton Abbey this weekend. He'd been resisting watching it for months, but he finally started watching on Thursday night. And now he can't stop. Hahaha

There's a new bakery in town, so I went to pick up some goodies as gifts on Saturday morning.  And of course, I got myself a cupcake.  Holy wow, this cupcake was DELICIOUS.  Seriously one of the best cupcakes of my life.  (Delicious even though it was a victim of my clumsiness and took a fall, smooshing the cute icing Christmas tree...)

Sunday after church, we went to my grandma's house for Christmas.  We got food from Cracker Barrel so Nana didn't have to prepare a huge lunch for everyone, and oh wow was it delicious.
I love the outfit this little guy has!
I got Martha Stewart's Cooking School book, which is seriously amazing. It has step-by-step photo instructions for how to make all sorts of things, from basics to advanced skills. I spent quite a while reading it yesterday and can't wait to put it to use!
Nana also gave me this nutcracker, which has found a nice home on our mantle beside the one I already have. Now I have a pair!
Speaking of our mantle, it's gotten CRAZY full of Christmas cards, which makes me so happy.  I'm trying to convince Donny to let me keep them up all year, but so far he's not on board...
And yes, I've started putting my birthday cards up on the other side.  :)
