Super Bowl Weekend.

This weekend was fantastic!  Friday night, Donny and I went to our favorite Japanese hibachi place for dinner, which was DELICIOUS.  After dinner, we spent a lovely evening wandering around Barnes and Noble and then trying to track down a Patriots shirt for me before giving up and heading home.  We did find gas for only $1.85, which is just insane, and also some weird sodas that I wasn't adventurous enough to try...

Saturday, Donny worked in the garage turning Craigslist junk into a nice piece of furniture!
I was far less productive, spending my day finishing two books (both of which had been started earlier in the week) and working on a third, which I finished today.
I also watched Serena win the Australian Open, which made me pretty happy.  Otherwise, it was not a good sports day with Carolina losing and Duke winning...

Then Sunday was Super Bowl day!  After church and watching Djokovic winning the Australian Open, I spent the afternoon cooking and cleaning because my parents were coming over to watch the game with us.  Between my mom and me, we had a pretty good spread.  Taco pizza rolls, buffalo chicken dip, ham and swiss sliders, gooey oreo bars, and chocolate dipped fruit.  So delicious!
My kitchen island works really well as a mobile buffet table!
I was really excited that my family decided to pull for my Patriots in the game because they love me.  Donny even got himself a pin to show his support!
It was a bit of a stressful game for me since I actually cared about who won, but what an ending.  There was definitely screaming when Malcom Butler made the interception that won the game.  And lots of happiness when I saw this happen...

Hope everyone else's weekend was as great as mine!

  1. Okay this is a totally off the wall comment but I absolutely adore your apple green appliances! I am so jealous! That is completely my favorite color and it won't go at all in my kitchen for me to steal yours....I mean get my own just like them.

  2. I read Shoe Addicts Anonymous a few years ago and bought the follow up book but still haven't read it. Looks like y'all had a fun Super Bowl party/spread. I'm sure it's a lot of fun to watch when your team wins (I only sort of remember that feeling). I like Russell Wilson a lot but that was the only dog I had in the fight so...you know...I kind of hoped they would both lose. HA. And...I'm still bitter about Dez Bryant (it WAS a catch). But hey...spring training starts in less than 3 weeks!!

  3. Such a GREAT game! Wow I was so tense! I could have sent you a Pats shirt. Why didn't you tell me you were looking for one? Let me know if you want me to get you one - there are plenty to choose from here!

Love the kitchen cart for your food - good idea!

  4. You're right--it looks like you had a great weekend! Your hubby sure is handy--that chair looks awesome!!
I wouldn't have tried those sodas either....I can't imagine any of them actually tasting good. Unless they were meals, and not drinks haha.
Love your mobile kitchen island that brought the snacks to where you guys were! Perfect! :)

  5. It's funny- the other day I was driving around with a friend and we were like, "oh man, gas has gone up to $1.89". Then we both stopped and looked at each other and laughed. We got spoiled by $1.69 gas for a while. It's like I'm back in college. Lol. :)
